I designed this lamp about 6 years ago never had time to make it as it seems. This week I finally stated it. The shade is 16 gauge steel hand formed. My two sons both said the same thing it looks like it is from Star Trek.  Never thought about that it really does.Should be done in a few days. Garry Zayon
